Winner Man Pleads Guilty to Firearm Violation
In a shocking turn of events, Joshua Felix, a 39-year-old resident of Winner, South Dakota, has pleaded guilty to a firearm violation. The crime, which is punishable by up to 10 years in custody and a $250,000 fine, was committed on March 15, 2012.
According to court documents, Felix was found to be in possession of a rifle, despite being a prohibited person due to a previous conviction for domestic violence simple assault on June 15, 2004 in Tripp County. As a result, Felix was prohibited from possessing firearms by operation of federal law.
The investigation into Felix’s activities was conducted by the Tripp County Sheriff’s Office and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Services. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Timothy M. Maher.
