SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – A Springfield man is behind bars after pleading guilty to multiple federal charges related to drug and firearm offenses.
Joshua Garcia, 26, was sentenced to 75 months in prison followed by five years of supervised release in federal court in Springfield on June 15, 2026, for possessing a firearm in furtherance of drug distribution and cocaine possession with intent to distribute.
The charges stem from an incident on October 3, 2024, in which Garcia possessed with the intent to distribute drugs and a firearm.
Garcia was initially charged in March 2025 and pleaded guilty to the charges in March 2026. U.S. Attorney Leah B. Foley; Ted E. Docks, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in New England; and Colonel Geoffrey D. Noble, Superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police made the announcement today. Assistant U.S. Attorney Todd E. Newhouse of the Springfield Branch Office prosecuted the case.
The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Massachusetts State Police.
