Kansas City Man Pleads Guilty to Methamphetamine Conspiracy Charge

A Kansas City man has pleaded guilty to a conspiracy charge related to a drug-trafficking ring. Joshua Sangrait, of Kansas City, Missouri, appeared before United States District Court Judge John A. Ross and pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, including more than 50 grams of actual methamphetamine.

According to the investigation, Sangrait participated in a vast network of co-conspirators spanning from St. Louis to Kansas City to California. During the investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in St. Louis, Missouri, established that Sangrait distributed significant amounts of controlled substances to other co-conspirators.

On April 19, 2019, DEA and the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department conducted an operation that resulted in the arrest of Sangrait. Investigators seized more than four kilograms of pure methamphetamine during the arrest.

The conspiracy charge carries a mandatory minimum term of imprisonment of not less than ten years. Judge Ross has set sentencing for November 30, 2021.
