Bank Fraud and Burglary Charges Hit Scranton PA
SCRANTON, PA – In a shocking turn of events, Juan Jose Rodriguez Tejeda, a 22-year-old from Luzerne County, Pennsylvania, and Angel Luis Carrasco Marinez, a 20-year-old from Carbon County, Pennsylvania, have been charged with conspiracy, burglary of a U.S. Post Office, and bank fraud.
According to the indictment, the duo allegedly conspired to burglarize multiple U.S. Post Offices in the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the District of New Jersey between May 12, 2024 and August 12, 2024.
The indictment also alleges that Rodriguez Tejeda and Carrasco Marinez burglarized a U.S. Post Office in Cornwall, Pennsylvania. Furthermore, it is alleged that Rodriguez Tejeda altered checks stolen from the burglaries in order to deposit them into his own bank account.
This matter was investigated by the U.S. Postal Investigation Service (USPIS). Assistant United States Attorney Sarah R. Lloyd is prosecuting the case.
