Manhunt Foiled: Juan Ramon Hernandez-Limon Caught in San Antonio

A brazen attempt to evade arrest ended with a manhunt foiled in San Antonio as Juan Ramon Hernandez-Limon, 28, was apprehended by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents on Sunday.

According to court documents, Hernandez-Limon repeatedly attempted to evade arrest after arriving at his residence, sparking a high-stakes game of cat-and-mouse between the suspect and ICE agents.

U.S. Attorney Jaime Esparza for the Western District of Texas announced the arrest.

Hernandez-Limon’s alleged crimes span multiple convictions, including a conviction for alien in possession of a firearm on April 28, 2021, for which he received a 12-month and one-day confinement sentence.

The affidavit further reveals that Hernandez-Limon was again convicted of illegal re-entry on February 8, 2024.

Hernandez-Limon made his initial appearance in federal court today and is charged with one count of illegal re-entry, facing up to 20 years in federal prison if convicted.

A federal district court judge will ultimately determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

ICE is currently investigating the case, while Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Anne Marie Cordova is prosecuting the case.

A criminal complaint is merely an allegation, and Hernandez-Limon remains innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The charges against Hernandez-Limon are a stark reminder of the ongoing struggle to stem the tide of illegal immigration and the dangers that come with it.
