Juhntrayvious J. White, Illegal Possession of Machine Gun, Louisiana 2022

A Shreveport man has been sentenced to federal prison for illegally possessing a machine gun, according to a recent sentencing.

Juhntrayvious J. White, 20, of Shreveport, was sentenced to 60 months in prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release, for illegally possessing a machine gun.

The crime occurred on September 9, 2022, when a Shreveport Police Department officer stopped White for a traffic violation on Hearne Avenue. As the officer approached the vehicle, White took off at a high rate of speed, reaching a speed of over 100 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone.

The vehicle eventually stopped, and White fled from the scene on foot, escaping officers. It was later discovered that an Anderson Arms AM-15 equipped with an auto sear and White’s cell phone were found in the vehicle.

White was later apprehended by law enforcement officers and admitted that he obtained the auto sear and converted the Anderson Arms AM-15 into a machine gun.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Shreveport Police Department, and prosecuted by First Assistant United States Attorney Alexander C. Van Hook.
