A Tahlequah man has been sentenced to 120 months in prison for possession of a stolen firearm.
Justin James Walker, age 28, was sentenced in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee. The court found Walker guilty of violating Title 18, United States Code, Section 922(j), Possession of Stolen Firearm.
The case arose from an investigation by the Tahlequah Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Walker was indicted in January 2013 and pled guilty in October 2013.
The indictment alleged that on or about August 25, 2012, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, Walker did receive, conceal, store, barter, sell or dispose of a stolen firearm, to wit: Mossberg, Mode1500ATP, 12 Gauge Shotgun, bearing serial number Jl50578, which had been shipped or transported in interstate or foreign commerce, either before or after it was stolen, knowing or having reasonable cause to believe said firearm had been stolen.
The Honorable Ronald A. White presided over the hearing. Walker will remain in the custody of the United States Marshal Service pending transportation to the designated federal prison at which he will serve his nonparolable sentence.
