Kasey Ludberg, 27, of Lafayette, Indiana, has been sentenced to 270 months in prison for the heinous crime of sexual exploitation of a minor. This sentence was handed down by U.S. District Court Judge Philip P. Simon after Ludberg pleaded guilty to sexual exploitation of a child and receipt of child pornography.
According to the U.S. Attorney Kirsch, Ludberg’s crimes involved inducing a young girl under the age of 12 to send him sexually explicit photographs via the internet. This disturbing act is just the tip of the iceberg, as Ludberg also admitted to requesting and receiving sexually explicit materials from numerous other minors.
The investigation, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Onondaga Sheriff’s Department, uncovered the shocking extent of Ludberg’s crimes. It was revealed that he had requested sexually explicit photographs and videos from approximately 30 other minors and received such materials from at least 10 of those minors.
The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alexandra McTague, who worked tirelessly to bring Ludberg to justice. The sentence of 270 months in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release, reflects the seriousness of Ludberg’s crimes and the need to protect society from such predators.
