KC Predator Adden Indicted in Child Assault Porn Case

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Michael Adden, 26, of Kansas City, Missouri, is facing a 14-count federal indictment stemming from the alleged production and distribution of horrific child pornography, including material depicting the sexual assault of a 3-year-old victim. The case, a chilling example of depravity, has drawn the full force of federal and local law enforcement.

Adden was originally charged in a criminal complaint filed April 18, 2024, but a federal grand jury returned a superseding indictment on Tuesday, May 7, adding to the severity of the accusations. He remains in federal detention without bond, a clear indication of the danger authorities believe he poses. The indictment details 10 counts of producing child pornography related to the young victim between November 14, 2023, and February 6, 2024. Further charges include one count of attempted production, two counts of distribution, and one count of possession of child pornography.

The investigation kicked off after multiple reports surfaced alleging Adden was uploading disturbing content to popular social media platforms – Snapchat, Kik, Discord, and Instagram. A search warrant executed at Adden’s residence on April 11, 2024, unearthed a sickening trove of evidence. Law enforcement discovered a cell phone, stored in an unlocked safe, allegedly containing hundreds of videos of child pornography, including the graphic abuse of the 3-year-old victim. But the horror didn’t stop there.

Investigators also seized an additional 20 cell phones from Adden’s home. Forensic analysis is ongoing, but preliminary reviews suggest Adden possessed thousands of files depicting the exploitation of children. The sheer volume of material points to a sustained and deliberate pattern of criminal behavior, raising serious questions about the extent of his depravity. This isn’t a one-off incident; it’s a systematic abuse of vulnerable victims.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Kenneth W. Borgnino is prosecuting the case, working in collaboration with the FBI and the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.
