Ke’Andre Wilson, Meth Trafficking, Oklahoma City 2023

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Ke’Andre Dewayne Wilson, 25, of Oklahoma City, is facing a potential life sentence after a federal jury found him guilty last week of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. The conviction caps a lengthy investigation into a drug trafficking organization (DTO) that funneled the deadly drug across state lines. The case, built by federal agents, exposed a sophisticated network with a major staging ground right here in Oklahoma City.

The feds began building their case in June 2020, focusing on Wilson and six other individuals allegedly involved in the large-scale operation. According to evidence presented at trial, the DTO was stashing significant quantities of methamphetamine at various locations around Oklahoma City, most notably at Low Life Body Shop in the southwest part of the city – a stash totaling roughly 133 kilograms. The bust came on April 28, 2021, as Wilson and his co-conspirators prepared to ship approximately 100 kilograms of the drug to Chicago. Law enforcement intervened, recovering the massive haul before it hit the streets.

While the jury convicted Wilson on the conspiracy charge – Count 1 of the indictment – they acquitted him on the second count of simple possession with intent to distribute. But the conspiracy conviction carries a hefty penalty: up to life in federal prison and a $10,000,000 fine. This isn’t a slap-on-the-wrist case; it’s a signal that federal authorities are taking down large-scale drug operations with extreme prejudice.

Wilson isn’t the only one facing serious time. Six other defendants have already been sentenced in the case, collectively racking up over 600 months – 50 years – behind bars. Arnulfo Perez received 180 months, Juan Benigno Vazquez Gonzalez got 168 months, Liliana Padron-Perez was sentenced to 120 months, Ramon Guadalupe Sanchez III received 84 months, Cesar Maximino Franco Morales received 36 months, and Emily Rios received 12 months and one day. The sentences highlight the coordinated effort to dismantle the entire organization.

The investigation, spearheaded by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), with assistance from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, wasn’t just about the meth. Agents seized approximately 139 kilograms of methamphetamine, 11 firearms, and $6,000 in cash during the course of the investigation. The case was also conducted as part of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), a multi-agency initiative designed to target high-level drug traffickers.

This conviction sends a clear message: move large quantities of meth through Oklahoma, and you’ll face the full weight of federal law. The streets of Oklahoma City – and beyond – are a little safer with Wilson and his co-defendants off the grid. But the fight against drug trafficking is far from over, and Grimy Times will continue to track these cases as they unfold.
