New Orleans Man Sentenced for Possession of a Firearm
NEW ORLEANS – A New Orleans man has been sentenced to 188 months imprisonment for possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, according to a recent court ruling.
KEITH A. JAMES, age 28, was convicted of possession of a firearm on July 11, 2017, after previously being convicted in 2008 for three counts of armed robbery and three counts of purse snatching in the Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans.
This case was brought as part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program aimed at reducing violent crime and making neighborhoods safer for everyone.
According to court documents, JAMES pleaded guilty to being in possession of a firearm, a charge that carries significant penalties for those with prior convictions.
