Prince William County Man Sentenced for Selling Fentanyl

A Prince William County man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for selling fentanyl, according to a recent court ruling in the Eastern District of Virginia.

Keith Issiah Slade, 46, was found guilty of selling fentanyl between February 2019 and May 2019, in and around the Eastern District of Virginia. Slade and a co-defendant obtained the fentanyl in Baltimore, Maryland and trafficked it into Virginia.

One of their customers was Individual 1, to whom they sold at least 55 capsules containing heroin/fentanyl. In May 2019, Individual 1 consumed fentanyl provided to her by Slade and the co-defendant, resulting in her death due to mixed drug intoxication.

The cause of death was ruled to be mixed drug intoxication, with Individual 1 having numerous substances in her system, including fentanyl.

U.S. District Judge Rossie D. Alston handed down the 18-month prison sentence for Slade’s crimes.

U.S. Attorney G. Zachary Terwilliger, Attorney General Mark R. Herring, and Fairfax County Chief of Police Colonel Edwin C. Roessler Jr. made the announcement after the sentencing.

Slade’s case was prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Karolina Klyuchnikova and Assistant U.S. Attorney Bibeane Metsch.
