Oklahoma City resident Nathan Kelly Graham, 26, got 21 months in the slammer for swiping a fleet truck in Muskogee and failing to register as a sex offender.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced Graham’s sentence after he pleaded guilty to one count of Theft in Indian Country and one count of Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.
Graham’s troubles started on January 26, 2023, when he swiped a fleet truck containing a GPS relay tracker from a Muskogee gas station. Muskogee deputies tracked the location data and found the truck stuck in the mud with Graham trying to tow it out. He fled on foot, but a K-9 unit caught up to him and he was later arrested.
Graham was indicted on September 13, 2023, for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender. In 2015, he was convicted of Rape, Second Degree, and was required to register as a sex offender. However, an investigation by the U.S. Marshals revealed that between July 4, 2022, and March 21, 2023, Graham failed to report any change of address despite residing at various residences in and around Indian Country in the Eastern and Western Districts of Oklahoma.
The Honorable Ronald A. White, Chief Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, presided over the hearings. Graham was transferred into federal custody on September 14, 2023, and will remain in the custody of the U.S. Marshal pending transportation to a designated United States Bureau of Prisons facility to serve his sentence of incarceration.
Assistant United States Attorneys Joshua Satter and Richard J. Lorenz represented the United States. Graham’s sentence includes 21 months’ imprisonment, with three years of supervised release, for the Theft in Indian Country charge, and a concurrent term of 15 months’ imprisonment, with three years of supervised release, for the Failure to Register as a Sex Offender charge.
