Methamphetamine Trafficking Ring Busted in Louisville

A Louisville man has been sentenced to over 15 years in federal prison for his role in a methamphetamine trafficking conspiracy.

Kelvin Watkins, 41, of Louisville, was sentenced on April 17, 2025, to 13 years and 4 months in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release, for one count of conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute methamphetamine and two counts of distribution of methamphetamine.

Additionally, Watkins was on federal supervised release at the time of the above offenses. His term of supervised release was revoked, and Watkins was ordered to serve an additional 2 years and 4 months in prison, for a total combined sentence of 15 years and 8 months.

This case was investigated by the ATF and LMPD, with the assistance of Assistant U.S. Attorneys Frank Dahl and Emily Lantz.

The case was sentenced under Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that aims to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations, and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

Operation Take Back America streamlines efforts and resources from the Department’s Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces and Project Safe Neighborhood.

Watkins’s co-defendants, Courtney Martin and Durelle Clayton, were also sentenced in connection with the conspiracy. Martin, 38, was sentenced to 12 years in prison, while Clayton, 35, was sentenced to 10 years in prison.
