Kendrick Williams, Fentanyl Trafficking, Florida 2022
A 43-year-old man from Vero Beach, Florida, has been sentenced to 70 months in prison for distributing fentanyl, a highly lethal controlled substance. Kendrick Williams pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing fentanyl.
According to court records, Williams distributed fentanyl on four separate occasions between December 31, 2021, and April 18, 2022. He sold over 40 grams of the deadly substance to a law enforcement confidential source in Vero Beach. The transactions were all recorded with audio and video.
In a disturbing twist, Williams used a juvenile to deliver the fentanyl on April 18, 2022. The juvenile later told law enforcement about Williams’ operation from an apartment in Vero Beach.
On April 27, 2022, law enforcement searched the apartment and found four handguns and multiple rounds of ammunition. It was determined that Williams used this apartment as a hub for selling, storing, and packaging large quantities of fentanyl.
Williams has a history of felony convictions, including two for the sale of cocaine. The investigation was led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Fort Pierce, and the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. The prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael D. Porter.
U.S. Attorney Juan Antonio Gonzalez, Acting Special Agent in Charge Michael Buckley, and Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers made the announcement. The case highlights the ongoing threat of fentanyl trafficking in Florida and the importance of law enforcement working together to combat this deadly crime.
