Kenner Man Caught with Meth and Stolen Gun, Faces 40 Years

New Orleans, LA – In a shocking display of disregard for the law, 37-year-old Alton Grayson, a resident of Kenner, Louisiana, has pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of a substance containing methamphetamine and being a felon in possession of a firearm. This egregious crime has landed Grayson in hot water, with a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.

According to court documents, Grayson was pulled over by a Kenner Police Department officer in January 2023 for traffic violations. And to make matters worse, Grayson is prohibited from possessing a firearm due to prior felony convictions, including a conviction for possession with intent to distribute heroin.

As part of a guilty plea, Grayson faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 5 years up to a maximum sentence of 40 years imprisonment, up to a $5,000,000 fine, and at least four years of supervised release. He also faces a maximum term of imprisonment of 15 years, up to a $250,000 fine, and up to three years of supervised release for the firearm conviction. Each count also carries a mandatory $100 special assessment fee.
