Kenny Ray Jackson Pleads Guilty to Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition
A Park Hill, Oklahoma resident has pleaded guilty to a federal crime involving firearms. Kenny Ray Jackson, 65, entered a guilty plea to one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
According to the indictment, on July 29, 2024, Jackson knowingly possessed three firearms: a .22 caliber, semi-automatic rifle, a .30-.30 caliber, lever action rifle, and a 12 gauge, break open shotgun. He also possessed 54 rounds of assorted caliber ammunition, despite having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.
The charge against Jackson arose from an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jonathan Soverly.
U.S. Magistrate Judge Gerald L. Jackson accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report. The court has yet to determine Jackson’s sentence.
Jackson’s guilty plea comes after a thorough investigation by law enforcement agencies. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of firearm safety and the consequences of violating federal laws.
