Kevin Allen, Forcible Interference with a Federal Officer, New York 2017

Kevin Allen, a 29-year-old Buffalo man, has pleaded guilty to a serious crime that put the lives of two United States Deputy Marshals at risk.

Allen, a fugitive, was driving a vehicle on Kilhoffer Street in Buffalo on November 1, 2016, when two Deputy Marshals attempted to pull him over. Instead of complying with the law, Allen rammed his vehicle into the two vehicles being driven by the Deputy Marshals.

The Marshals were fortunate to have escaped injury, but the vehicles sustained extensive damage.

According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Michael J. Adler, the charge against Allen carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The investigation into Allen’s crime was led by the U.S. Marshals Service, under the direction of Marshal Charles Salina.

Allen’s plea is a significant step towards justice being served in this case, and we hope that the court will impose a sentence that reflects the severity of his crime.

Sentencing is scheduled for September 12, 2018, at 12:30 p.m. before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara.
