A tragic case of fentanyl trafficking has come to an end, with two Maine men facing severe consequences. Kevin Camp, 42, and Frank Lynch, 34, both residents of Maine, were sentenced in federal court in Portland for their involvement in the deadly crime.
Camp and Lynch were found guilty of distributing fentanyl, a highly potent opioid, which led to the death of another individual. The incident occurred on January 26, 2019, when Lynch obtained fentanyl from Camp and handed it over to another person, who ingested the substance and died.
On January 27, 2019, law enforcement officers seized additional fentanyl intended for distribution from Camp’s person and residence. The Auburn Police Department led the investigation into the case.
In a federal court hearing, U.S. District Judge George Z. Singal sentenced Kevin Camp to six years in prison, along with three years of supervised release following his prison term. Frank Lynch received a five-year prison sentence and three years of supervised release.
Camp pleaded guilty to the charges on October 17, 2019, while Lynch pleaded guilty on October 28, 2019. The severe sentences handed down by Judge Singal serve as a warning to those involved in the deadly trade of fentanyl.
