Bronx gang leader Kevin Perez, a/k/a ‘Kay Flock,’ a/k/a ‘Kay,’ a/k/a ‘KK,’ has been charged with murder, racketeering, and related crimes in connection with his alleged involvement in the Sev Side gang.
Perez, 28, is accused of leading the Sev Side gang, which was responsible for a series of violent crimes in the Bronx and Manhattan, including the murder of Hwascar Hernandez, who was shot to death on December 16, 2021, in the Hamilton Heights section of Harlem.
The indictment charges Perez with racketeering conspiracy, murder, and other crimes related to his membership in the Sev Side gang. He is also charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.
Perez is currently in federal custody and is expected to be presented later today before Magistrate Judge Valerie Figueredo.
The charges against Perez are the result of a long-term investigation by the FBI’s New York Office and the NYPD’s Organized Crime Bureau.
The indictment alleges that members of the Sev Side gang, including Perez, terrorized neighborhoods in the Bronx and Manhattan by committing indiscriminate shootings against members of rival street gangs.
The indictment also alleges that members of the Sev Side gang promoted the gang and gun violence on social media and through music they created and promoted, which referenced real acts of violence.
Perez faces up to life in prison if convicted of the charges against him.
