Kevin Taylor, Michael Mazur, Gary Robles Charged with Murder, New York 2011
Three men have been charged with the 2011 murder of Joshua Rubin in Brooklyn, New York. KEVIN TAYLOR, GARY ROBLES, and MICHAEL MAZUR were arrested and are facing federal charges for the shooting death of Rubin on October 31, 2011.
According to the indictment, Taylor, Robles, and Mazur robbed Rubin of marijuana in the vicinity of 1021 McDonald Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, and in the course of that robbery Rubin was shot and killed.
U.S. Attorney Geoffrey S. Berman praised the outstanding work of the FBI, NYPD, and the Special Agents of the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. He also thanked the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office, the Pennsylvania State Police, and the South Whitehall Township Police Department for their assistance in the investigation.
The case is being prosecuted by the Office’s Violent and Organized Crime Unit. Assistant United States Attorneys Alexandra Rothman, Mollie Bracewell, and Dominic A. Gentile are in charge of the prosecution.
Taylor, 27, Robles, 37, and Mazur, 26, are each charged with murder through the use of a firearm, which carries a maximum penalty of death or life in prison and a mandatory minimum sentence of five years in prison.
The charges contained in the Indictment are merely accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
The case is assigned to United States District Judge Laura Taylor Swain and will be presented this afternoon before United States Magistrate Judge Ona T. Wang.
