King and Queen County Man Sentenced to 5 Years for Meth Trafficking

A 34-year-old King and Queen County man has been sentenced to five years in prison for possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.

George Franklin Gibson Jr., 34, of King and Queen County, was arrested on March 17, 2022, after deputies responded to a report that he was violating a protective order. Deputies found a plastic baggie with suspected meth in the center console of Gibson’s truck, as well as a backpack containing more suspected meth, marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia.

During a search of Gibson’s premises, law enforcement recovered 187.59 grams of meth, along with a loaded 9mm handgun, packaging materials, and over $13,000 in cash. The investigation also uncovered a shed containing large quantities of marijuana and marijuana plants.

Gibson pleaded guilty to the charges on February 29. U.S. Attorney Jessica D. Aber, DEA Special Agent Jarod Forget, and King and Queen County Sheriff William R. Balderson made the announcement after sentencing by U.S. District Judge M. Hannah Lauck.
