Seventeen individuals have been charged with smuggling kilogram quantities of cocaine through the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Puerto Rico.
The defendants, including Kristian Yadiel Falcón-López, Chazz David Carter-Justiniano, and Natalia Díaz-García, were charged with conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute cocaine, as well as conspiracy to launder monetary instruments.
According to the indictment, the conspiracy began in or about 2023 and lasted through the date of the indictment, June 26, 2025.
Falcón-López and Carter-Justiniano are also charged with conspiracy to launder monetary instruments, which involved the proceeds of their drug trafficking activities.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Ryan R. McCabe and María Cristina Semanaz-Ojeda from the Transnational Organized Crime Section.
Additionally, two defendants, Jonathan Ramírez-Colón and Ivelisse García-Osorio, were charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine through the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
The alleged period of the conspiracy is from a date unknown, but no later than in or about 2018, to the date of the indictment.
Another indictment unsealed today charges eight individuals with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine through the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
The defendants, including Sandy L. Guardiola-Bermúdez, Carlos Alberto Cruz-Bonilla, and Yarauni Nieves-Rivera, are part of a drug trafficking organization comprised of a network of recruiters, coordinators, and transporters who traveled from Puerto Rico to the continental United States via commercial flights with cocaine for wholesale distribution.
U.S. Attorney W. Stephen Muldrow stated that the drug trafficking organizations were using the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport to smuggle large quantities of cocaine from Puerto Rico to several destinations throughout the continental United States.
