Krystal Lynn Feist, Murder and Drug Conspiracy, North Dakota 2017

FARGO, North Dakota – In a shocking turn of events, Krystal Lynn Feist, a 32-year-old resident of Grand Forks, North Dakota, has been sentenced to serve 30 years in federal prison for her role in the drug conspiracy and murder in furtherance of the conspiracy at the Flying J Truck Stop in Grand Forks, ND.

On October 31, 2017, Feist appeared before U.S. District Judge Ralph R. Erickson, who handed down the harsh sentence. Feist was also ordered to pay a $300 special assessment to the Crime Victims’ Fund.

The investigation into the murder of Austin Forsman at the Flying J Truck Stop in Grand Forks, ND, in the early morning hours of March 11, 2016, led to the indictment of 13 conspirators involved in a methamphetamine ring in the Grand Forks area. Feist, along with Modesto Torrez, was charged with the murder of Forsman, as well as the drug trafficking conspiracy. Torrez was found guilty after a jury trial of drug trafficking conspiracy and murder in furtherance of the drug trafficking conspiracy, as well as obstruction of justice.

The case was prosecuted by U.S. Attorney Christopher C. Myers, Assistant U.S. Attorney Jake Rodenbiker, and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeremy Ensrud.
