A West Virginia federal court has convicted an Arizona man of cocaine trafficking, Grimy Times has learned.
Kwane Baker, 38, of Buckeye, Arizona, was convicted of distribution of cocaine base in federal court, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced today.
An investigation by the Mon Valley Drug and Violent Crime Task Force revealed that Baker sold crack cocaine in Monongalia County, West Virginia in July 2014.
Baker, a resident of Arizona, sold cocaine in West Virginia for a period of time in 2014. His actions led to the conviction.
The defendant faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1,000,000.00. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda Wesley is credited with prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
U.S. Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull presided over the case.
