Grimy Times Exclusive

WILMINGTON, NC – In a shocking turn of events, Rodney Troy Williams, 49, of Bolivia, North Carolina, has been arrested and charged with cocaine distribution in Brunswick County.

According to sources, Williams was one of three defendants named in a federal indictment for their alleged involvement in a large-scale cocaine trafficking operation. The indictment, which was returned by a federal grand jury on January 30, 2018, charged Williams and his co-defendants with conspiracy to possess and intent to distribute 280 grams or more of cocaine base (crack) in Brunswick County between 2014 and April 10, 2017.

Williams, who is currently being held in the Brunswick County Detention Center facing state charges related to the distribution of crack cocaine, will be transferred into federal custody. His co-defendants, Jessica Nicole Milliken, 30, of Leland, North Carolina, and Kimberly Joe Coleman, 51, of Southport, North Carolina, are also named in the indictment.

The investigation into the cocaine trafficking operation was led by the FBI’s Coastal Criminal Enterprise Task Force (CCETF), which is made up of the FBI, Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, Wilmington Police Department, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

The CCETF was formed in July 2016 to combat the rise of heroin distribution along the coast. The task force has been instrumental in taking down several large-scale drug trafficking operations in the region.

The charges against Williams and his co-defendants are mere allegations, and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
