Methamphetamine Trafficking Plagues Pennsylvania Communities

A former resident of Boswell, Pennsylvania, Michael Knisely, has pleaded guilty to violating federal narcotics laws. The 31-year-old’s guilty plea was accepted by United States District Judge Stephanie Haines on an unspecified date.

According to court documents, Knisely possessed with the intent to distribute 500 grams or more of a mixture and substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine. This heinous crime took place on or about April 16, 2021.

Knisely’s actions have put him in the crosshairs of the law, and he now faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life behind bars. He is also subject to a fine of up to $10,000,000. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based on the seriousness of the offenses and Knisely’s prior criminal history.

The case against Knisely was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Laurel Highlands Resident Agency, FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Cambria County Drug Task Force, and Cambria County District Attorney’s Office.

Assistant United States Attorney Arnold P. Bernard Jr. is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 23, 2022, at 10:30 a.m.
