Lunden Lamon Walker, a 40-year-old Kalamazoo resident, was sentenced to 18 years in prison for his role in a large-scale drug trafficking operation in Western Michigan. Walker’s crimes involved selling fentanyl, methamphetamine, and cocaine, as well as possessing multiple firearms to further his drug dealing. The investigation, which took place in 2025, found Walker to be a major player in the local drug trade, with over 1.5 kilograms of pure methamphetamine found in his car and additional evidence of his crimes discovered in multiple residences.
During the investigation, law enforcement executed search warrants at several locations where Walker was known to stay, including a Kalamazoo home where his children were present. There, they found two safes containing fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, guns, ammunition, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. A third gun was found in the second safe. The evidence against Walker was overwhelming, and his sentencing reflects the seriousness of his crimes.
Walker’s case is a prime example of the devastating impact of drug trafficking on communities. The U.S. Attorney’s office and the DEA are committed to working together to take down traffickers like Walker and bring safety and stability to the region. As U.S. Attorney Timothy VerHey stated, ‘Walker was a large-scale drug trafficker whose crimes ravaged a community that has already been deeply affected by drug and gun violence.’
The DEA Detroit Division Special Agent in Charge, Joseph O. Dixon, also weighed in on the case, saying, ‘Criminals who make the choice to profit from poisoning our communities and use deadly weapons as part of their criminality, create an even greater threat to this country.’ Walker’s sentencing is a significant step towards holding accountable those who perpetuate the drug trade and bringing justice to the people of Western Michigan.
