Lamar Harris, Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Substances, Iowa 2021

Drug kingpin Lamar Harris, 37, of Burlington, Iowa, has been brought to justice after a multi-year investigation into his notorious crime syndicate. Harris was recently sentenced to 210 months in prison for his role in a long-standing conspiracy to distribute significant quantities of controlled substances.

The sentencing took place on Friday, June 11, 2021, at the United States District Court in Davenport, Iowa, where Chief Judge John A. Jarvey handed down the harsh sentence. Harris was also ordered to serve four years of supervised release following his prison term, as well as pay $100 to the Crime Victims’ Fund.

Harris’s involvement in the conspiracy dates back to 2011, and he has a history of violence, with two prior felony drug convictions on his record. At the time of his latest offense, Harris was under criminal justice supervision, making his actions all the more egregious.

The case against Harris was one of eight federal charges brought against defendants in the Southern District of Iowa as a result of a joint federal and state investigation. “This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN), a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and make our neighborhoods safer for everyone,” officials said in a statement.
