Antelope Valley native Leandrew Raglin, 22, of Lancaster, stood guilty before a jury today for the cold-blooded murder during an Inglewood marijuana deal. The grim event unfolded in March 2021 when Raglin and his co-conspirators Mateo Paul, 23, of Long Beach, and Iysis Elanore Smith, 22, of Inglewood, lured a dealer via social media to a premeditated ambush.
Raglin’s deadly actions began as Smith distracted the victim. Meanwhile, Paul and Raglin positioned themselves behind the dealer’s vehicle. With a gun in his hand, Raglin opened fire on the passenger side, wounding him. Moving to the driver’s side, he shot again, this time killing the victim. The brutal shooting was part of a planned robbery.
United States District Judge Fernando L. Aenlle-Rocha set March 13, 2026, for Raglin’s sentencing, where he faces life imprisonment after being held in federal custody since October 2023. Paul, who pleaded guilty on February 18, also awaits a sentence of life in prison for his role in the crime. Smith, too, has entered a guilty plea on felony robbery charges.
The investigation was a joint effort by the FBI and the Inglewood Police Department. Assistant United States Attorneys Chelsea Norell and Gregg Marmaro are spearheading the prosecution.
These convictions send a stark reminder of the violent underbelly of drug trafficking, underscoring the need for vigilance and justice in our communities.
