Twin Brother Sentenced to Life in Prison for Methamphetamine Trafficking

Amarillo, Texas – In a shocking turn of events, twin brothers Landis Charles Barrow and Mandis Barrow have been brought to justice for their involvement in a significant methamphetamine trafficking operation.

Landis Barrow, 46, was charged in February 2023 and was found guilty of one count of conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, three counts of distribution of methamphetamine, one count of possession of intent to distribute methamphetamine, one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine, and one count of possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.

A six-day trial revealed that Landis Barrow sold or facilitated the sale of large quantities of methamphetamine to a confidential source on three occasions in late 2022. During a search of his residence in February 2023, DEA agents discovered pound quantities of methamphetamine, two large baggies of cocaine, drug scales, and paraphernalia worth $7,000 in cash, a firearm, and a drug ledger with Landis’ name written in it.

Landis Barrow admitted during his trial testimony that he distributed approximately 1,000 kilograms (2,200 pounds) of controlled substances for a Mexican Cartel. He also admitted to running a ‘crew’ of individuals and carrying a firearm with him at all times.

Court documents and trial testimony also revealed that Landis Barrow was a suspect in a murder investigation involving his alleged retaliation for the theft of a large quantity of drugs and money that occurred in November 2022.

During the sentencing hearing, Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk ruled that Landis Barrow had made credible threats of violence to shoot or harm people he believed were involved in the robbery. The judge also found that Landis Barrow had perjured himself during his trial testimony.

Landis Barrow was sentenced to life in prison on Thursday by U.S. District Judge Matthew J. Kacsmaryk. His twin brother, Mandis Barrow, was previously convicted of one count of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, one count of distribution methamphetamine, and one count of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and was sentenced in January to life in prison.

The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Dallas Field Division – Amarillo Resident Agency, with the assistance of the Potter County Sheriff’s Office, the Randall County Sheriff’s Office, the Amarillo Police Department, and the Texas Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Anna Marie Bell and Sean Long prosecuted the case.

Landis Barrow’s twin brother, Mandis Barrow, was convicted of similar charges and received a life sentence in January. The case highlights the severity of the consequences for those involved in methamphetamine trafficking and the importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies in bringing these individuals to justice.
