A 25-year-old Monroeville man has been sentenced to 30 months’ imprisonment for his role in a heroin trafficking ring operating in Pittsburgh’s East Suburbs. Larry Dandridge, formerly of Monroeville, was sentenced on his conviction of narcotics trafficking in federal court.
According to court documents, the Greater Pittsburgh Safe Streets Task Force conducted a long-term investigation into drug trafficking in and around the Braddock section of Pittsburgh. The investigation, which began in 2019, resulted in the indictment of 33 individuals, including Dandridge, on charges related to heroin and marijuana trafficking.
Intercepted communications revealed that Dandridge was conspiring with others to possess with intent to distribute heroin in the Western District of Pennsylvania. The investigation confirmed that Dandridge accepted responsibility for the distribution of 95 grams of heroin and seven pounds of marijuana between April and May 2019.
Assistant United States Attorney Rebecca L. Silinski prosecuted the case on behalf of the government. United States Attorney Scott W. Brady commended the multi-agency team, led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, for their work in bringing Dandridge to justice.
The investigation was a collaborative effort involving several agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives, United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Allegheny County Sheriff’s Office, Allegheny County Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office Bureau of Narcotics, and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
The investigation was funded by the federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program (OCDETF), which provides critical federal funding and coordination to allow federal and state agencies to work together to identify, investigate, and prosecute major interstate and international drug trafficking organizations.
Dandridge will serve three years of supervised release following his imprisonment, as part of his sentence.
