Larry Stephen, 46, pleaded guilty to one count each of distribution of child pornography and possession of child pornography on March 25, 2025.

Stephen was previously arrested and charged by criminal complaint on July 18, 2023, and indicted by a federal grand jury in August 2023.

According to the charging documents, authorities identified Stephen as an individual using a social media platform to receive and post child pornography. On June 7, 2023, a search warrant was executed at Stephen’s Marlborough residence where Stephen’s cell phone was seized.

A preliminary examination of the cell phone revealed the presence of child pornography. Stephen repeatedly posted images and videos of child pornography videos on a social media platform.

The charges of possession of child pornography and distribution of child pornography carry a sentence of at least five years and up to 20 years in prison, at least five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release and a fine of up to $250,000.

U.S. District Court Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton scheduled sentencing for June 26, 2025.

Valuable assistance was provided by the Marlboro Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney’s David G. Tobin and Eric Hawkins of the Major Crimes Unit are prosecuting the case.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse, launched in May 2006.
