Tahlequah Resident Pleads Guilty to Federal Firearm Crime

Muskogee, Oklahoma – In a shocking turn of events, Laura Gema Carroll, a 36-year-old resident of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, pleaded guilty to one count of Felon in Possession of Firearm and Ammunition.

The charges arose from an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Tahlequah Police Department.

The indictment charged Carroll with knowingly possessing one .380ACP caliber, semi-automatic pistol and five rounds of .380ACP caliber ammunition on June 12, 2024, after having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by more than one year imprisonment.

Carroll will remain in the custody of the United States Marshals Service pending sentencing.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Rachel Geizura and T. Cameron McEwen represented the United States.

The Honorable D. Edward Snow, U.S. Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, accepted the plea and ordered the completion of a presentence investigation report.
