Lawrence Jones, Bank Robberies, Alabama 2022

A string of bank robberies in Madison County has led to the indictment of Lawrence Jones, 57, of Huntsville, Alabama.

According to a federal indictment filed in U.S. District Court, Jones is accused of committing bank robberies at four Regions Bank locations between May 2022 and January 2023.

The FBI investigated the case along with the Huntsville Police Department and Madison Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sara M. Judah and Russell Penfield are prosecuting the case.

An indictment contains only charges. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.

The indictment charges Jones with committing bank robberies at the following Regions Bank locations:

– Regions Bank, 3400 Carl T. Jones Dr SE, Huntsville, Alabama 35802, on July 21, 2022

– Regions Bank, 2600 Carl T. Jones Dr SE, Huntsville, Alabama 35802, on October 17, 2022

– Regions Bank, 3500 Carl T. Jones Dr SE, Huntsville, Alabama 35802, on January 6, 2023

Lawrence Jones is currently charged with four counts of bank robbery. He has not yet entered a plea and his case is ongoing.

An exact date for sentencing or outcome has not been announced. Lawrence Jones is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
