Cleveland Man Faces Firearms Charges

A Cleveland man is behind bars after being indicted for being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition.

The indictment, filed by the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio, Carole S. Rendon, alleges that Lenelle Gray, 36, possessed an Imbel, .45 caliber pistol, a Mauser .32 caliber pistol, and ammunition on September 8, 2005, after having been previously convicted of three felony drug trafficking offenses in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives conducted the investigation, and the case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ranya Elzein.

If convicted, the court will determine the defendant’s sentence after a review of factors unique to this case, including the defendant’s prior criminal record, if any, the defendant’s role in the offense, and the characteristics of the violation.

The indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

As for Lenelle Gray, he is currently facing felony charges for being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. The case is ongoing, and it is unclear what the outcome will be.

According to the indictment, Lenelle Gray was previously convicted of three felony drug trafficking offenses in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Ohio in 2005.
