Kingston Man Sentenced for Firearms Felony

SCRANTON – In a shocking turn of events, LeShawn Burgman, age 35, of Kingston, Pennsylvania, has been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for possession of firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.

According to United States Attorney Bruce D. Brandler, Burgman was arrested in October 2016 after he sold MDMA, or ‘Molly,’ and marijuana to confidential informants. Burgman pleaded guilty to a criminal information on June 20, 2017, charging him with possessing three firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking crimes.

During the execution of a search warrant in Burgman’s residence and vehicle, authorities recovered a Hi-Point semi-automatic, .380 caliber pistol, a Sig Sauer semi-automatic .45 caliber pistol, and a Colt .38 caliber revolver. Burgman’s arrest was the result of a joint investigation by the Kingston Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Sean A. Camoni. This case was brought as part of the Violent Crime Reduction Partnership, a district-wide initiative to combat the spread of violent crime in the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Burgman was arrested in October 2016 and pleaded guilty to the charges on June 20, 2017. His sentence was handed down by United States District Court Judge Richard P. Conaboy on September 20, 2017.
