A brutal killing, a hail of gunfire, and a trail of deceit: these are the hallmarks of the deadly crimes committed by Geno St. Flerose, a Miami man who’s now facing life behind bars.
On April 28, 2020, St. Flerose, a 31-year-old member of the notorious ‘Everybody Eats’ (EBE) gang, shot and killed a 22-year-old victim who was driving by his house after a high-speed chase through four city blocks. Witnesses describe the scene as chaotic, with St. Flerose firing 13 rounds into the victim’s car, striking him three times.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the hospital. His family has been left to pick up the pieces of a senseless tragedy, one that’s all too common in Miami’s gang-plagued neighborhoods.
But St. Flerose’s crimes didn’t stop there. On June 17, 2020, while a federal special agent was conducting surveillance in the area, St. Flerose spotted the agent’s car and opened fire, firing multiple rounds that pierced the vehicle but missed the agent. It was a brazen attack that left law enforcement reeling.
And if that wasn’t enough, investigators found a treasure trove of personal information on St. Flerose’s cell phone, belonging to hundreds of people. It was a clear case of identity theft, one that’s increasingly common in the digital age.
U.S. Attorney Markenzy Lapointe, Special Agent in Charge Jeffrey B. Veltri of the FBI’s Miami Field Office, and Special Agent in Charge Rafael Barros of the U.S. Secret Service (USSS) Miami Field Office announced the sentence imposed by U.S. District Judge Beth Bloom.
Geno St. Flerose was sentenced to life in prison, followed by five years of supervised release. His crimes are a stark reminder of the dangers of gang violence and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable for their actions.
The case was investigated by the FBI’s Miami Field Office and the USSS Miami Field Office, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Yara Dodin prosecuting the case and Assistant U.S. Attorney Mitchell Hyman handling asset forfeiture.
