Lancaster Man Sentenced For Child Pornography Distribution
A Lancaster man has been handed a lengthy prison sentence for his role in distributing and receiving child pornography. Lloyd Hershey Wenger, Jr., 46, was sentenced to 121 months’ imprisonment, followed by 20 years’ of supervised release, by U.S. District Court Judge Sylvia H. Rambo.
Wenger was also ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution and register as a sex offender. The conviction stems from Wenger’s contact with an undercover FBI agent, during which he shared numerous image files depicting children, some as young as infants, engaged in sexually explicit conduct. A forensic examination of Wenger’s computer revealed over 1,800 image files and over 500 video files containing child pornography.
The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant United States Attorney Daryl F. Bloom handling the prosecution. This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
Lloyd Hershey Wenger, Jr. was indicted in February 2012 and pleaded guilty in August 2012. The harsh sentence handed down in this case serves as a reminder of the gravity of child pornography distribution and the importance of holding perpetrators accountable.
As part of the investigation, Wenger was found to have shared explicit images of children with an undercover agent. This disturbing behavior is a clear indicator of the severity of Wenger’s crimes, and the court’s sentence reflects the seriousness of his actions.
