Local resident Dasean Lee, 28, is facing serious charges after being accused of illegally possessing three firearms. Lee, a convicted felon, allegedly had the weapons in his Pittsburgh residence.
According to the indictment, on February 11, 2021, a search warrant was executed at Lee’s home in the 800 block of Citadel Street. During the search, authorities recovered three firearms, including a stolen handgun. Lee reportedly admitted to owning the guns.
The indictment charges Lee with a single count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. This serious offense carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison, a fine of up to $250,000, or both.
The investigation into Lee’s activities was a joint effort between the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty is handling the prosecution of this case on behalf of the government.
An indictment is merely an accusation, and Lee is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
