Lockwood Busted for Cocaine Conspiracy

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Dale Lockwood, 60, of Buffalo, New York, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine, a crime that carries a mandatory minimum penalty of 5 years in prison, a maximum penalty of 40 years incarceration, and a $1,000,000 fine. The plea was entered before United States District Court Judge Richard J. Arcara.

The investigation, led by the Drug Enforcement Administration under the direction of Brian R. Crowell, Special Agent in Charge, New York Field Division, found that Lockwood supplied cocaine to John Smith, aka Kazoo, a National Vice President of the Afro Dogs motorcycle club. At the time of his arrest, agents recovered $73,255.00 in U.S. Currency, eight firearms, and various ammunition.

A previous trial involving Lockwood ended in a mistrial in May 2013 when the jury could not arrive at a verdict. This plea marks the culmination of the government’s investigation, which has resulted in 8 other convictions to date.

Lockwood also faces a criminal forfeiture of an additional $50,000 and any interest he may have in the Afro Dogs Club House at 1093-1095 Genesee Street, Buffalo, New York. Sentencing is scheduled for December 9, 2013 at 12:30 p.m.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas S. Duszkiewicz is handling the case. The conviction closes the government’s investigation, which has seen significant results in combating organized crime in the region.
