GREAT FALLS, Montana — Logan Sea Pallister, a 24-year-old Helena man, was arraigned in a federal court for allegedly attempting to damage a Helena Public Schools building with pipe bombs.
Accused of using a destructive device to cause damage, Pallister faces a mandatory minimum sentence of five years to 20 years in prison, a $250,000 fine, and three years of supervised release if convicted.
According to the indictment, Pallister intended to maliciously damage the school building with pipe bombs on May 31, 2022. He is also accused of possessing unregistered destructive devices and a silencer.
Pallister pleaded not guilty to the charges and was detained pending further proceedings.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jeffrey K. Starnes, who was assisted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Helena Police Department in the investigation.
U.S. Magistrate Judge John T. Johnston presided over the arraignment.
An indictment is merely an accusation, and Pallister is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
