Tennessee Man Guilty of Felony Firearm Possession
Memphis, TN – In a shocking turn of events, Lorenzo Clark, a 36-year-old Memphis resident, has pled guilty to felony possession of a firearm. The shocking crime took place on Sunday, October 11, 2015, when Clark fatally shot 31-year-old Terence Olridge, an off-duty officer with the Memphis Police Department (MPD).
According to the indictment, Clark unlawfully possessed a Glock 9mm pistol on the day of the shooting. The firearm was reportedly used by Clark in the fatal shooting of Olridge, who was off-duty at the time of the incident. MPD officers responded to a shooting call at Clark’s Cordova residence, where they later recovered the Glock 9mm pistol alleged to be used in the shooting from Clark. Clark admitted to possessing the Glock 9mm prior to and during the shooting with Olridge.
Lorenzo Clark was charged with felony firearm possession in October 2015. On Wednesday, January 6, 2016, Clark pled guilty to one count of felony firearm possession. He is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Sheryl H. Lipman on April 15, 2016. Clark faces up to 10 years imprisonment and a fine of up to $250,000 when sentenced.
The case is being investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), along with the MPD. Assistant U.S. Attorney Marques Young is prosecuting this case on the government’s behalf.
