ST. LOUIS, MO – A string of brazen armed robberies has finally caught up with a St. Louis man, who has been indicted on multiple counts of armed business robbery and related charges.
Louquincy Carr, a 35-year-old St. Louis resident, faces four counts of armed business robbery, four counts of brandishing a firearm in connection with those robberies, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm. The indictment was handed down on September 17, 2020, by a federal grand jury.
The crimes
The investigation began on July 24, 2020, when Carr entered a T-Mobile store located on South Grand Boulevard in St. Louis. According to court documents, Carr looked at some display phones before approaching the counter and pointing a silver handgun at the employee, demanding money from the register. The employee complied and handed over the money, and Carr then forced the employee into the back office at gunpoint.
Over the next few weeks, Carr struck again, targeting the same T-Mobile store on August 4, 2020, and a Boost Mobile store on August 14, 2020. In each case, Carr used a silver handgun to intimidate employees and demand cash and valuables. The final robbery occurred on August 25, 2020, at a Wingstop Restaurant, where Carr used a similar modus operandi to steal cash and escape.
The investigation
Forensic evidence, including digital surveillance video and a silver handgun found during a search of one of Carr’s residences, led investigators to identify him as the suspect. On September 10, 2020, Carr was taken into custody by law enforcement, and search warrants were executed at two different residences where he is known to stay.
