Marc Sanchez, a 31-year-old Lowell man, pleaded guilty to distributing crack cocaine and illegal possession of guns in Boston federal court. Sanchez was busted for selling crack out of his apartment in Lowell, where he would ‘cook’ powder cocaine into crack and sell it to customers. The operation was uncovered when a cooperating witness arranged to buy an ounce and a half of crack from Sanchez, who was observed meeting with a supplier to acquire the powder cocaine. The transactions went down on September 17 and 25, 2025.
Sanchez’s apartment was searched on October 1, 2025, and cops found more cocaine, drug-coated cookware, and packaging materials, as well as over $3,000 cash and two loaded 9mm handguns in a safe. Sanchez has multiple felony convictions and has served time in a Massachusetts state prison. He was arrested and charged in October 2025 and has remained in federal custody since.
Sanchez’s guilty plea includes two counts of distribution of and possession with intent to distribute 28 grams or more of cocaine base and being a felon in possession of firearms and ammunition. He is scheduled to be sentenced on September 17, 2025, by U.S. District Court Judge Julia E. Kobick.
The case highlights the ongoing issue of crack cocaine distribution in Massachusetts, particularly in cities like Lowell. Sanchez’s use of phone numbers and cars registered in other people’s names to deal crack cocaine shows the lengths to which dealers will go to evade law enforcement.
