Man Sentenced for Illicit Re-Entry
EDY GARCIA-BANEGAS, a 32-year-old citizen of Honduras, has been sentenced to 6 months in prison for illegally re-entering the United States after being deported multiple times, according to U.S. Attorney Duane A. Evans.
Garcia-Banegas was found in the United States on December 14, 2017, after being deported on multiple occasions. U.S. District Judge Ivan L.R. Lemelle handed down the sentence, which includes 6 months of incarceration, to be followed by 1 year of supervised release. Garcia-Banegas was also ordered to pay a $100,000 fine.
