Marvin Grassrope, Jr., Simple Assault of a Child, South Dakota 2013

A Lower Brule man was sentenced to 18 months of probation for inappropriately touching a juvenile female.

Marvin Grassrope, Jr., 19, was sentenced by U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on October 6, 2014, after he pleaded guilty to Simple Assault of a Child under 16.

The incident occurred on or about October 5, 2013, when Grassrope committed the offense.

The investigation was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Thomas J. Wright prosecuted the case.

Grassrope was also ordered to pay $25 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
