Meth Dealer Gets 10 Years Behind Bars

MONROE, La. – Marvin Brown, a 45-year-old man from Tallulah, will spend the next decade in prison for selling a deadly dose of methamphetamine.

According to court records, Brown was sentenced to 120 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Robert G. James for one count of distribution of methamphetamine. The sentence also includes five years of supervised release.

The evidence against Brown was laid out in a guilty plea hearing on May 1, 2015. It showed that on July 9, 2014, Brown sold 109.1 grams of methamphetamine to an undercover agent for $6,000 in cash. When law enforcement agents approached to make the arrest, Brown fled the scene, abandoning his vehicle and taking off on foot.

Brown’s flight was short-lived, as he was later captured by agents. The investigation into Brown’s activities was conducted by the DEA, with Assistant U.S. Attorney F. Michael O’Mara handling the prosecution.

The sentencing of Brown serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of methamphetamine and the serious consequences that come with dealing the deadly drug.

As the Grimy Times continues to investigate the world of organized crime, one thing is clear: those who deal in methamphetamine will be held accountable. Brown’s case is a prime example of the long arm of the law reaching out to bring justice to those who would seek to harm our communities.
