Justin Lee Boyer, Sexual Exploitation of a Child, Oklahoma 2017

Child Predator Sentenced to 25 Years Behind Bars

Oklahoma man, Justin Lee Boyer, 32, of Sapulpa, has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for exploiting a 10-year-old girl through child pornography in 2017. Boyer, who pleaded guilty to Sexual Exploitation of a Child before District Judge Claire V. Eagan, admitted to persuading the young girl to send him explicit pictures of herself via text message.

According to the investigation, Boyer’s heinous crime was committed in October 2017. He will be sentenced to a mandatory minimum of 25 years, with a maximum penalty of 50 years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Following his prison term, Boyer will face a minimum of 5 years of supervised release.

U.S. Attorney R. Trent Shores praised the law enforcement agencies involved in the case, saying, ‘We will aggressively prosecute sexual predators who victimize our children through child pornography. I am proud of our law enforcement partners who work tirelessly to stop child exploitation.’

The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006. The project is led by the U.S. Attorney’s Offices and the Criminal Division’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS). The initiative marshals federal, state, and local resources to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children via the Internet and to identify and rescue victims.

The charges against Boyer are the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado, the Creek County Sheriff’s Office, and the Sapulpa Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Jeffrey A. Gallant and Shannon B. Cozzoni handled the prosecution of this case.

Boyer’s guilty plea is a significant victory for the victims of child exploitation and abuse. It sends a clear message that such crimes will not be tolerated and that those who commit them will face severe consequences.

As the investigation and prosecution of such cases continue, it is essential to remember that child exploitation and abuse are serious crimes that have a profound impact on the victims and their families. It is crucial that we all work together to prevent such crimes and support those who have been affected by them.
