Marcus Leo Kyle, Methamphetamine Trafficking, Alabama 2019

A federal judge in Birmingham, Alabama, handed down a 15-year sentence to Marcus Leo Kyle, the last of four defendants in a North Alabama conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.

Kyle, 180 months in prison, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Madeline H. Haikala for his role in the conspiracy, which involved the distribution of 50 grams or more of methamphetamine between January 2016 and February 2018.

Kyle also pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in March 2018 and to possessing a Taurus 709 Slim 9mm semi-automatic pistol in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

The sentencing comes after a lengthy investigation by the DEA, ATF, and local law enforcement agencies, including the Madison County Sheriff’s Office, Morgan County Sheriff’s Office, and Cullman County Sheriff’s Office.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert J. Becher, Sr.

Kyle’s sentence brings to a close the cases of four defendants in the conspiracy, including Melvin “Froggy” Rolin, who was sentenced to 24 years and 7 months in prison, and Barry Williams, who received a 12 ½-year sentence.

Britney Michelle Black was sentenced to 78 months in prison for possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine in March 2018.
